Samten Memorial Educational Academy was established in 2005 A.D. with a vision and aims. This school was open with a very few number of students, even they all were children of Tibetan Handicrafts and Paper Pvt. Ltd. (THP) staffs and few other students from other school. Now, we have around 100 students, most of them are from Dolakha district. There are classes Nursery to class IV, it has proposed to class X in near future.

We offer 50% discount on monthly fee to children cames from Alampu, Bigu, Chilankha and Khopa Chagu.

Teaching and non teaching staffs: there are 10 teachers including principal and an accountant. We have our own school building and green grassy play ground. Students play different games such as football, volleyball, etc on the school ground.

The school aims to introduce a broader and more balanced curriculum to enable all pupils to develop the qualities and skills needed in adult life. Students are encouraged to take part in all extra curricular activities such are games, music, dance, arts, and crafts.

A common curriculum made up of Moral Education, English, Nepali, Mathematics, Science, Environmental Science (Health), Social Studies, Art & Craft and computer studies taught in all the other classes. Students of classes UKG to class IV learn Computer Education.

School consists of two levels: Play Group and above up to class IV. The minimum age for admission into play group is above 2 years. For Nursery is 3+ years. Informal education is imparted to students in the play group.

The children are made to do a lot of oral work, indulge in various kinds of activities, play games, do simple practical, go for excursions, and observe different things and phenomenon. The aim of the curriculum at this stage is to make children creative innovative. To develop good toilet habits, to encourage children to eat healthy foods and to make them aware of the benefits of good health. The Kindergarten school is of one year. The minimum age for admission to this class is 5+ years. Formal education starts from this class.

Apart from oral work, activities, games, educational tours, excursions, visit to the zoo and picnic.

Transportation for day scholars

School transport is available for the students of Dhumbarahi, Chabahil, Tushal, Mahankal, Tenzing Chowk and Paiuntar areas. Bus routes are extended on parent’s request as per their need.

The transportation charges depend on the distance of the school from the branch.
